Made the water taste terrible

Bought this filter in August 2024 for a refrigerator in our new home. The water in the fridge tasted a little off when we first moved in so we thought this was a good move. After replacing with this filter the water tasted even worse. Weve been drinking bottled water ever since but thought wed try to install another filter. We got the same LG brand filter from another place and the water is now tasty and quite drinkable. I cancelled my renewal subscription on this site and will be getting an LG filter elsewhere from now on.

I just installed my second replacement filter since purchasing my LG in 2023. Overall Ive been unhappy with the filter system. Even after flushing the initial gallon or so of water through a new filter it takes more than a couple of weeks to finally drink water that feels relatively clean.

Taste is pure and the water is clean

The most important fact about the filter is that the water taste good. I live in Morgan Hill CA and the water quality here is pretty poor. Apparently of the following disinfectants Chloraminechlorine+ammonia/Mono- chloramine/CL2/Chlorine Residual/Chlorine Dioxide/Free Chlorine/Total Chlorine/Sodium Hypochlorite NAOCL/24-D/ and/or Ammonia are prominent in the area where I live. The LT1000P is giving me a lot of peace of mind about drinking the water and as I said the taste is pure. The only reason I didnt give a 5 star rating is due to a 6 month life on the filter instead of a year However for pure clean water 6 months is great

Very poor subscription service for LG water filter

The water filter is OK. The LG subscription service is poor. There is no way to change the shipping date even though a search of support indicates that one can. Instead one has to cancel the subscription and reapply. I would expect a far more user-friendly way to manage a subscription.

Filter doesnt seem to work at all. Fridge is 1 week old. I have flushed over 10 gallons of water 3 different flushing and emptied ice trays 2 times. Still the ice cubes and water are horrible tasting. Every other faucet in our house and our old fridge is/was great tasting. Would love an explanation.

The water filter is easy to install

The air filter and water filter work fine. The problem was the air filter had a white case around it and wouldnt fit in the case the old filter came out of. After getting through the maze of who to call on the LG website I finally talked to someone and was told it was the correct filter. I again explained it was 1/4 to 3/8 too large. The solution was Just take the cover off. I said Id try that but if it didnt work would I receive a refund as I was told that was the solution. I was assured a note was made to allow a refund if it didnt work. It did fit without the case. My frustration is have to jump through hoops to be told to change the product that was supposed to fit.

The water filter is great. The air filter did not fit my refrigerator. I had to cut open the plastic frame and remove the innards those fit in the slot. I had an impossible time getting LG site to identify what my refrigerator needed. Ive never dealt with a maker not being able to ID my model and what it needs You have QR codes in the refrigerator why do you not have the capabilities to scan that and have the appropriate items pop up?

The filter inside the refrigerator has proved to be a bit more of a challenge. Mostly because the door does not come off easily and we dont want to break it.

I purchased these items IN STOCK online on Monday 7-15-24 and paid for expedited shipping to get these items on Wednesday 7-17-24. On Wednesday I did not receive my package. I called on Monday 7-22-24 and still had not received my package. LG stated it was shipped on Friday 7-19-24 but did not show as shipped in tracking information. LG stated I should receive the items in a few days. I called LG on Friday 7-26-24 to cancel my order and receive a refund. I still had not received my items after 2 weeks WITH EXPEDITED SHIPPING. I am still waiting for a refund for these items plus the expedited expense I paid. I cancelled due to locating a store locally that had the items in stock and items were replaced in one day. Thanks LG. I will not be using your website again. Im sure the product wasnt poor but the service sure was
