Defect in design

Bought a new water filter tonight. It was the LT1000p LG replacement. The picture showing in the refrigerator is the new one but we had to modify the inside tabs in order for the new one to twist into the fixture. This is a problem because the Lowes label did the same exact thing. The two pictures with the filter in my hand was the one that went in with little effort and no modification. The CB20131 production run is what lg needs to go back to or they are going to have a lot of defective filters. Try again LG. I shouldnt have to do your work to make the correct filter size work for your product. Ive own the LG refrigerator for a year and a half and this is the third filter for it. The other two installed without and modifications or difficulty to install. This is hopefully just a production run issue.

Not happy with filter

I have had the filter installed for a couple of months. It is a six month filter. My water has a iodine/plastic taste to it. I followed the direction on install and discarding the water as directed. My water does not taste good so we are sitll buying bottled water. It had been my hope that I could stop with bottled water and use refillible containers. Very frustrated that I paid this must for a refrigerator and not happy with the filtering system.

I bought this water filter recently. Popped my old filter out with no issues however it took forever to get the new one installed. I watched a YouTube video on reason why the water filter may not be clicking in. Basically the inside part needs to be at a 3 and 9 position. Mine was at an 4 and 11 position. Guy on YouTube video showed how you could fit the old filter in to use as a tool to make sure the inside tabs were at 3 and 9 position easier said than done. I finally called customer service which was absolutely no help but it did give me the strength to finally successfully move the tabs to a 3 and 9 position. Once those tabs in the very middle were at 3 and 9 the water filter clicked in. This should not be that difficult or maybe LG needs to include a tool along with instructions to get that area in a 3 and 9 position so that the water filter can be easily installed.

I purchased the filter after trying multiple filters. The filter still did not work on my refrigerator. The technical assistance people wanted me to try to fix my refrigerator with a screwdriver as I was told after the fact that it was a very common problem with my refrigerator that the connector piece does not go back to the correct position. I found another company that sells filters that are less than half the price of yours and they sent me a free tool to fix the problem.

Got a good deal on a 3 Pack from LG on our new refrigerator. The original filter was great as well as the next one from the 3 pack. Just replaced the next one. The water tastes like metal. Had to use my last one to test it out. It is fine. Now it will be a crap shoot if I purchase more . Kind of a waste of money it happens again. Dont know if it has anything to do with it but there was a powdered residue falling down from the water dispenser while the metal tasting filter was in.

I bought the refrigerator over a year ago. The water and ice has tasted and smelled terrible since day one I also have white stuff on the dispenser. My water in my home is perfectly fine. I didnt have any problems with the taste and smell with my previous refrigerator. I like the fridge but very dissatisfied that I cannot use the water and ice dispenser. According to other reviews this is a common problem. Please repair this known issue or at least comp the filters since the dont work anyway.

Does not remove all the chlorine

Had a frigidaire fridge that used puresource ultra ii filter with wonderful water. Just bought a brand new lg fridge and water tastes like chlorine. Yuck. Looking for an aftermarket replacement filter now that will work better. Come on LG.

I like our LG Fridge but the LT1000P filter is extremely bad. The water and ice taste horrible and im not able to drink water or use ice because of the smell and taste. Are there any other filters out there that doesnt taste bad and have a terrible smell?
